Is an electric golf caddy worth the extra money?

I’m thinging of buying an electric golf cart and just wondered whether or not you think that it is a good investment or not. They seem more affordable these days, although I must admit some of them are still really expensive, but these tend to be the high-end remote controlled models. I really just want and electric push or pull cart to leesen the load round the course. What do you think? – Jack.

Hey Jack – I’ve been using one for years and can’t remember the last time I had to actually carry my clubs round a golf course! So I’m sold already, and you are about to get a totally biased opinion on why you should buy one right now!

I always found that in the past I quickly got tired, especially on the really hot summer days we get sometimes, and found myself wishing I had a real caddy to carry all my stuff when I’m playing golf. It’s not that I am just plain lazy, but when I get tired I tend to lose focus and just want to head straight for the bar! lol…

Also the three local golf courses that I play the most are quite hilly with a lot of inclines and at the end of some games I was often begining to feel that just getting my golf clubs from tee to tee was more like a chore than it should have been. And that unfortunatle started to distract me from what should have been my main focus – playing golf!

So yes, go get yourself an electric golf trolley or motorized caddy or whatever you want to call them, and once you have one you really will start to consider whether or not you should have bought a remote control caddy instead. The reason for this is that you will still need to put your hands on the cart to steer it, whether in front of you or behind you, in the right direction on the green or the fairway for where you want to go.

No big deal I hear you say, but remember that if you aer starting to feel even just a little bit tired from the rigors of the game then this is just more extra hassle that you don’t really need and your game, your focus, concentration and comittment to what you really should be doing with your golf clubs, will be better served with a hands-free automatic golf caddy.

I guess you can tell I’m a convert! And Iwould say that if you have any physical problems or isuuse at all however small, then get an electric trolley cart, as it is essential to preserve your body as much as you can and to stay fit if you want to continue to play golf well. Also if you like walking as opoosed to riding around in a golf buggy, then you still get to do that, but without the strain of carrying those damn golf clubs! For me it’s the perfect scenario..

Must admit I bought my current electric cart a while ago when prices were still relatively high, but today you there are many affordable options from different cart manufacturers and even some of the remote controlled models are now coming down in price, although new hi-tech version still seem to carry premium prices.

So, “buy one” is my final recommendation! …and ENJOY.
