What are the best golf courses in the Atlanta area?

I’m a huge golf fan and I am visiting Atlanta to attend the final four just in late March and also early April of this year. I want to play golf on a couple of the best courses in the Atlanta area. Price is no concern as I can afford a good golf course. Obviously, it would be really great to golf the Augusta National course, but that is I think most likely impossible as it is a very, very private club and I won’t get in. I would appreciate all and any suggestions you have including course names or web sites or just links to all the best courses in the Atlanta area. Thanks to all of you for your time and help on this.

   Go to Golfdigest.com and look up state-by-state rankings of courses. They do a great job of ranking courses and can give you much more information than we can do here. Try the following link, but if it doesn’t work, just search on Golf Digest.
