Which golf clubs are best for a beginner?

Frazzle asked me:

I want to start playing golf. I’m 22 years old already and I’ve done a little research on golf clubs. I knew going into this that the Callaway is probably the best brand, but its also really tooexpensive. Is the Wilson club a good brand for Women’s golfing clubs? I want to spend no more than 2 or maybe 3 hundred dollars on a complete set to start out with. Is that reasonable or what?

Buy a cheap set such as Wilson etc. You can get a decent set at Wal Mart. There is no reason to spend a lot of money until you are familiar with the game and know what you want.

Hello future golfer. I have been playing golf for about 5 years now. I use a non-brand set of clubs (Gear 2 Golf) it cost for the whole set about 350.00. I know the name is generic but these clubs have a softer feel to them and allow some forgiveness to mistake shots. All I can say is care full with brand names around that price. They are mostly true-hit clubs( as in they have no forgiveness to them).

Hope this helps, good luck in your search.

Yah go with something from wal-mart or a store like that. Just to start out and once you are good enough to need better clubs then go on to higher brands at that point. Good luck! your going to need it, its one of the hardest sports out there.
